If you are looking for a lost pet:

You should come to the Animal Shelter to see if your pet is here. In order to claim your pet, you must come to the shelter.

We encourage use of the lost and found pet website you can link to from this site.  This is a community-wide bulletin board available 24/7.

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, Inc.  cannot be responsible if your pet is here and is not listed on our website.

If your animal was brought in by the Laurel Police Department you will need to provide authorization from them, that releases the pet to you.

OUTSIDE ANIMAL YARDS

Have you stopped by the shelter and looked at the outside animal yard? Knife River Construction is 90% complete with the preparation of the ground. The entire perimeter of the yard has a 24 inch mow strip to ensure that animals cannot dig under the fencing. The north yard and the east yard are separated by a fence which also has a mow strip under it in order that dogs in the play yard area cannot mingle with dogs in the outside kennel area. The yard base is six inches of pea gravel. Jares Fence Company will be following with the placement of the fencing fabric. This is to include the perimeter of the yards, four play yards  and two "meet and greet" yards that are approximatley 1924 sq feet each.

The "meet and greet" yards are designed for visitation of adoptable animals by individuals, families, and pets. Because we want to be as sure as possible that the animals will fit into their new homes, we like all members of the families to visit including the other pets.

The two following phases will include 10 ft x 10 ft portable dog runs in the north yard. To do this we will be accepting donor packages in sponsorship of each run. At approximately $800.00 a piece, each run will have a plaque that names the company or person that sponsored that run. Our plan is to have 30 outside runs. At the same time we are designing a "cat complex" which will allow our cats to move in and out of their personal "kennel caves" they currently live in, to a more open and communal environment.  This will also be funded by donations specified for our fickle feline friends.

If you are interested in these sponsorships, please contact Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter or use the PayPal option in the Donations section.

Can't teach an old dog new tricks? Not so! Perfect Paws did. Thanks so much for helping us help old Archie in his later years.
